NOTICE

Please take note that the ASME A17.1-1996 Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators and Supplement ASME A17.1a-1997 with modifications within Reference Standard 18 was adopted by the City of New York on December 17, 2002.

The Department therefore requires all applications, tests and notices be filed on or after April 17, 2003 to reference the updated reference standards and the work completed under these applications must comply with these updated reference standards.  Any application or work performed under these applications that is not compliance will be rejected or failed.
